Summit Hockey Summer Camp Information

Camp Dates and Times:
Session 1: August 13-17, 2018
Session 2: August 20-24, 2018
All camps are co-ed, unless specified. 
Cost per session, includes camp jersey
Register for camp and pay in full by:
– March 31, 2018 ———— $400/week per participant
– April 30, 2018 ————– $500/week per participant
– May 31, 2018 ————— $600/week per participant
– After June 30, 2018 —— $650/week per participant

Age Group Daily Schedules:

Goalies (All Ages)
— On ice 7:00am-8:00am, with appropriate age group thereafter

Group 1 (Mites & 1st yr Squirts)
— On ice 8:00am-9:00am, off ice 9:15am-10:15am, on ice 10:30am-11:30am, done.

Group 2 (2nd yr Squirts & Peewees)
— On ice 9:15am-10:15am, off ice 10:30am-11:30am, on ice 11:45am-12:45pm, done.

Girls Group (Girls Ages 12-17)
— On ice 1:00pm-2:00pm, off ice 2:15pm-3:15pm, on ice 3:30pm-4:30pm, done.

Group 3 (Bantams & Midgets)
— On ice 2:15pm-3:15pm, off ice 3:30pm-4:30pm, on ice 4:45pm-5:45pm, done.

Each Group includes:
– Two 60 minute daily on-ice sessions
– One 60 minute off-ice session
– 3 total hours of daily instruction from top-level professional coaches and instructors

 

Letter to Players and Parents

It is our desire to provide the players who attend the Summit Summer Hockey Programs with the finest instruction available.

Summit Hockey summer camps provide players with the opportunity to improve their fundamental skills and tactical hockey knowledge. We teach the basics of skating, stick skills, dry land training techniques, and situational awareness through progressive drills and repetition.

 

Our Objective is to improve performance through:

    –   Development of skating and stick skills
    –   Tactical development
    –   Game competition
    –   Competitive play and sportsmanship

Mites & First Year Squirts

Ages 6-9 with at least one year skating experience
All players will be challenged according to their skill level.

This program is based on teaching the basics of skating and stick skills, along with hockey instruction. We make it simple and easy for kids of this age to understand and enjoy.

We strongly recommend all mite campers have at least one year skating experience.

 

Squirts & Pee Wees

Ages 10-12 with at least one year skating experience
All players will be challenged according to their skill level.

This camp is designed to meet the needs of skill and tactic development while including game competition for players to improve their play with and without the puck. The camp will feature skill development (skating, shooting, and stick skills) along with competitive drills and small games.

 

Bantams & Midgets

Ages 13+ with at least one year skating experience
All players will be challenged according to their skill level.

This camp is designed to meet the needs of skill and tactic development while including game competition for players to improve their play with and without the puck. The camp will feature skill development (skating, shooting, and stick skills) along with competitive drills and small games.

 

Girls Group (Ages 12-17)

Girls Ages 12-17 with at least one year skating experience
All players will be challenged according to their skill level.

This camp is specifically for girls to work with our female coaching staff.  It is designed to meet the needs of skill and tactic development while including game competition for players to improve their play with and without the puck. The camp will feature skill development (skating, shooting, and stick skills) along with competitive drills and small games.

Goal Tending Clinic

All Levels

This camp is designed to meet the needs of all goalies to improve on the basic skills of goal tending. The camp will provide top-level goal tending instruction. Sessions will include individual goalie work with a circuit program that addresses basic skills with different stations before incorporating the goalies into group sessions. Top level coaches and moose players will assist with the clinic as shooters.  Goalies will have a goalies only morning session and will then participate with their appropriate age group.

Cost: Same cost as listed above, with the same registration deadlines

 

Coach Resumes

Mike Pilon

Mike played junior hockey in Ontario and two seasons of Senior “A” hockey in the US.  He is a Master Level certified Coach with USA Hockey and is the Director of Player Development for the Gloucester Rangers program.  Mike has an Honor’s degree in physical education and has worked with over 100 NCAA athletes and a dozen current NHL players.
